Marketing Lessons and My First Commercial

24 May

My mom was out of town for awhile and I am glad to have her back home. I sold a pair of Reebook shoes on ebay while she was gone and my dad took me to the post office to ship it.  I also got two Coach purses from one of my mom’s friends to sell.

Before my mom left, we met with my uncle so that I can pick up the authentic Russell Westbrook autographed jersey.  His team (Oklahoma City Thunder) is doing good in the playoffs so it will be more valuable. I think people will want to wear the authentic jersey of the guy that is doing good in the playoffs!

My uncle gave me some tips in marketing. He works for the Miami HEAT. He said that if I wanted to make money I needed to have a commercial to help people know me better and what my business does. He said it should be a 30 second commercial to give the most important details in the shortest amount of time. If you make it too long, people will be like “Oh this is sooo boring!”

My uncle also told me that it was good that I was doing this. He said teenagers in high school have to do such much more work to make much less money.  I make a lot more money for every hour that I work on my business.

When my mom came back home, we finished my commercial. I was so excited to do it! It takes a lot of time to just do a 30 second commercial. It took almost 3 hours to do it.  It takes skills! I produced the whole thing and my mom helped me with editing and adding images. Do you like it? I would love if you would share it!

    Hi Anisa!

That is AWESOME! I am so excited for you! I am so glad to see a young lady such as yourself showing such initiative. Keep up the hard work and you will soon reap great rewards. I have a fan page on Facebook dedicated to young people such as yourself. It is called ‘Financial Literacy for Kidz’. I am posting your commercial on there. Feel free to join and post all the information you would like to share on there as well. It will show kids your age they can do it too. Also there are lots of parents on there that would like to know what to share with there children on how to get started. You are a shining example.

I have a 10 year old son that wants to be an entrepreneur. He draws comic strips and works for me right now. I look forward to seeing what the future brings for you guys.

    Clapping my hands……
